Being a lawyer is about more than crime. It's about using the law to serve and protect the good guys, too. The New York Legal Assistance Group, or NYLAG, provides free legal services to low-income New Yorkers in civil cases. Serving seniors, domestic violence victims, immigrants, people with disabilities, and others, NYLAG helps ensure that every New Yorker - rich or poor - gets equal justice under the law. Last year, NYLAG served nearly 54,000 individuals and helped hundreds of thousands more through successful class-action litigation.
